Job Description

Reporting directly to our Head of Partnerships, the key areas of responsibility and duties will include:

  • Underwriting motor breakdown insurance products across both direct and broker distribution channels, however the role may not be limited to motor breakdown insurance
  • Reviewing loss ratio performance on a monthly basis, with relevant proposals made to relevant stakeholders
  • Assisting Account Managers and Business Development Manager in obtaining new business and retaining current accounts
  • Managing and drafting policy wordings as well as ongoing reviews and benchmarking
  • Showing innovation by spotting process improvements and demonstrating how we can tweak processes to improve the customer experience and drive profitable growth
  • Formulating and submitting pricing proposals to underwriters and Call Assist stakeholders
  • Co-ordinating new client launches with key stakeholders within Call Assist
  • Providing regular pipeline and progress reports
  • Attending external meetings, conferences and events on behalf of the business
  • Providing your input towards internal projects and similar ad hoc work as part of a company wide team

Working Hours

The working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is based in our Colchester City Centre office but flexible working arrangements will be considered if needed. The specific job title and remuneration package will be dependent upon experience.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate they have the following attributes:

  • Background experience in an insurance role
  • Previous experience in an underwriting role
  • Good mathematical/Excel skills
  • An excellent communicator across all settings, including the ability to write articulately and in plain English
  • Confidence to deliver compelling presentations and proposals to senior managers
  • A proven drive to succeed
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • A team player who is not afraid to get involved and support team members
  • Ability to build good relationships externally and internally
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
